Andrew Pritchard

Andrew Pritchard (he/him) originally trained as a professional actor at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) before pursuing a career as a freelance writer, producer, director, and educator.

Bio

Andrew has over 15 years’ experience in the creative education sector. Previous roles include Senior Lecturer Practitioner for the Cambridge School of Creative Industries at Anglia Ruskin University where he was also Artistic Director of the Mumford Theatre, Secondary and Further Education Programme Coordinator at the Royal National Theatre with projects including New Views and NT Connections, and International Operations Manager for the sub-Saharan creative arts charity Dramatic Need.

Other organisations he has worked with include the Coram Shakespeare Schools Foundation, Pleasance Theatre Trust, Qdos Entertainment and Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG).

His students have continued their training at drama schools including RADA, LAMDA, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. They have also appeared on stage at the National Theatre and Shakespeare’s Globe as well as on screen for the BBC and Netflix.

As a writer, producer, and director his work has featured at the Edinburgh Festival and received funding from Arts Council England. Alongside his work for stage and screen he is also an experienced scriptwriter and motion capture performance director for video games.

He is a qualified Mental Health First Aider, Arts Award Adviser, and Makaton signer. Other training includes the National Centre for Circus Arts and the British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat. He has been on the advisory board for the Music & Drama Education Expo and is a non-executive director for PurpleDoor, Liverpool.

He is an External Examiner at MetFilm School and Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and has sat on revalidation panels for institutions including Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.
